CITY MOBILITIES

City Mobilities is an intensive workshop model and series of one-day temporary art events that foster new ideas about the way participants access, move and engage within the City of Adelaide’s public spaces. Conceived and led by Tom Borgas and OSCA Artistic Director/ Paul Gazzola and developed in partnership with The Mill, over 28 South Australian artists working across the visual arts, performance, curation, architecture, urban planning, and social sciences have engaged in researching various city spaces and the development of a series of conceptual and physical responses in a collegial and collaborative setting.

These workshops explore visual, design and performance making methods to highlight, question and re-negotiate the importance of individual participation in public space. They offer participants a nurturing and fertile space to share, learn, create, and exchange ideas, skills and processes, opening up new ways of thinking, doing and making. These workshops are a precursor to the development of a longer collaborative public art project planned over the next two years.
